Interested in any health services career path, the biological sciences or “how things work” in the body
The Health Services Youth Initiative gives grade 11 students the opportunity to explore one of over 200 health occupations through a summer internship. Students may earn an honorarium, school credit and valuable experience in the health services field of their interest. Students may be invited back the following summer at the employer’s discretion.
**The CAREERS: Health Services Youth Initiative will have a limited number of positions for the Summer 2017. Please contact the Off-Campus teacher at your school or the CAREERS Field Director in your area before submitting an application.
CAREERS has a program for employers interested in hiring a health services student intern.
This program operates all across Alberta linking health services employers to students interested in the health sector. Students complete a six-week internship, with the option for you to extend their placement to eight weeks.
CAREERS pre-screens students based on their grades, attendance, and attitude. We suggest possible matches, and you interview the students to choose the best fit for your organization.
