CAREERS has opportunities for students to study technology careers while earning high school credits and post-secondary credits at the same time. Dual credit programs are offered in the following disciplines:
Qualified and motivated students can enroll in this technical training program while attending high school. During the two-year program, student earn high school credits while having the chance to meet requirements for a Fundamentals of Water and Wastewater Operations Certificate from NAIT.
Students enroll in post-secondary courses through NAIT while in high school. Students who start the program in Grade 10 may be eligible for certification as a Production Field Operator upon completion of high school. This program is offered in southeastern Alberta.
The program is a partnership with Cenovus Energy, Northern Lakes College, Keyano College, NAIT and several industry partners. High school students take additional post-secondary power engineering courses. Those who successfully complete the program are eligible to receive the Fourth Class Power Engineering certification after passing a provincial exam.
