CAREERS: Rebuilding Fort McMurray – Creating Youth Futures campaign has been prompted by the devastating fires in Fort McMurray; the disruption of CAREERS Fort McMurray programs, the displacement of student interns and the postponement of events and activities throughout the province. There are two streams for designated support to this campaign: Rebuilding Fort McMurray and Youth Futures.

  • Rebuilding Fort McMurray will be used to support re-establishing programs in the Fort McMurray and the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB), youth/stakeholders in transition due to displacement, and to build partnerships and collaborations that will put youth back to work in Fort McMurray.
  • Youth Futures will be used to support CAREERS province-wide programs, including Fort McMurray and RMWB, in trades, technologies, health, and occupations in high-demand. CAREERS programs encourage and support youth, young apprentices, Aboriginal youth, and young women to stay in school, engage in learning, make conscious choices about post-secondary education and accelerate entry into the workforce.

  • REGIONAL PARTNERSHIPS Engaging partners in education, industry, associations and Aboriginal communities to expand regional opportunities for youth.
